It’s been so long since we’ve been able to gather with family and friends that we are all beginning to miss the prying questions from our aunts, or that one dish that only grandma can make right. The time is right for a family reunion!
Salida is a fantastic location for a family reunion since we have a little something for just about any traveler. For summer travelers, kids and grandparents alike will enjoy one of the many river rafting trips (we recommend Independent Whitewater!). You can take an exciting rapid-heavy trip down the Arkansas River, or opt for a gentle cruise through the flora and fauna. Winter travelers will enjoy skiing at Monarch Resort, an epic snowmobile tour at Monarch Snowmobile or snowshoeing the many nearby trails.
Another essential for a family reunion trip are restaurants that can seat the whole crowd. The High Side Grill and Boathouse Cantina have plenty of seating right on the Arkansas River. Afterwards, check out the unique shops in downtown Salida, like the True Vintage antique mall or the YOLO clothing boutique. If the boys are already sick of shopping, opt for an easy stroll along Salida’s Riverwalk – a tranquil trail along the river with views of the Rocky Mountains.

Your vacation rental may have a kitchen, but maybe you’d rather not spend the entire family reunion cooking and cleaning. If that’s the case, give Moonlight Pizza a call! They have great pizza, sandwiches and salads and are one of the few businesses in Salida that delivers.

We also rent out our entire Main Inn building which can sleep 15 in six rooms. We live on-site so we can hang around to help keep wood in the fireplace or we can give you full privacy during your stay.
