Amica's is so beloved that I have had multiple guests tell me they stop in town just to pick up a pizza. And indeed, it was one of the things that really sold Mike and I on living in Salida. The menu offers personalized pizzas with creative topping combinations so everyone can try something different. They also offer excellent sandwiches and salads. Don't miss out on the spicy oil!
Boathouse $$ - 228 N F St, Salida, CO 81201
Boathouse is a Salida classic and rarely missed by frequent visitors to the area. It is epically located right on the Arkansas with tons of tables with excellent river views, year round. The menu is large and filled with comfort food and Mexican options so it appeals to even the pickiest of eaters.
High Side! $ - 300 W Sackett Ave, Salida, CO 81201
Mike and my go-to restaurant, we even had our rehearsal dinner here! High Side also has a great location on the river, a gorgeous patio surrounded by trees and great food. The menu is small and features pub food done extremely well.
Currents Steakhouse $$$ - 122 N F St, Salida, CO 81201
Another classic Salida favorite, Currents has excellent steaks and comfort food. Their downtown patio is a great spot to dine in the summer.
Sushi Thai $$ - 123 W 1st St, Salida, CO 81201
New to the scene in 2023, we love Sushi Thai! Like many city-folk I have always been skeptical of restaurants boasting two cuisines in one. However, Sushi Thai has made me see the error of my ways! Sitting down at what is now one of our favorite restaurants, I have the hardest time deciding whether to order Sushi or Thai. Some of our favorite dishes are:
Sushi: Mafia Roll, Yakusa Roll, Top Model Roll
Thai: Crispy Duck Pad Thai, Lobster Drunken Noodle
The service is excellent and I love the cozy hole-in-the wall ambiance. Whatever you order, this is definitely one of the best restaurants in Salida.
Iron Chest Steakhouse $$$ - 10965 Co Rd 128, Poncha Springs, CO 81242
Started by the same folks that own Currents Steakhouse in downtown Salida, Iron Chest is an exciting new addition to the Poncha Springs community. Like its sister restaurant, Iron Chest offers great steaks and other comfort foods. The decor is modern western and we were fortunate to come on a day where the restaurant invited all the local ranchers to bring their personal cattle brands to brand the bar. We love that this give the restaurant true local spirit!
Quincy's $ - 710 Milford St, Salida, CO 81201
This is a love it or hate it concept. There are only two choices on the menu: how big do you want your steak and do you want your potato loaded? Quincy's is a quirky old school spot with read leather booths, tiffany lamps and photos from Salida's past. Weekdays they serve Filet Mignon and weekends are Prime Rib. Don't expect a steak on the level of Currents, but we think the food is excellent given its very affordable pricing. Wine and beer is also available. This is a great spot when downtown Salida is busy and the restaurants are all on waits.
